Praise GOD!

Everything for semester 2 has been paid for! Amazing! .... but now I'm flying home to have my spleen/gall bladder taken out and I won't be studying this semester. I'm ok with this, trusting God, and looking forward to reconnecting with friends from WA again : )

10 days Left. For more info refer to posts from the bottom of this page, up.

For those that have been praying for my finances or have supported financially, I'm deeply grateful. Currently I'm more than halfway towards my current expenses for semester two, having raised nearly $4,000 NZD with the total required amount being 7,750 NZD. I see that as a complete miracle how much support has come in, I feel amazingly blessed. When my parents told me of how much support had come in, I fell on my face in praise, and spontaneously started crying. Luckily I was in my room and no one saw me... what, me cry?

I now have 10 days left to secure the $3,750 NZD ($3,157 USD) before class starts. I'm still not sure how it's going to work out in such a short time, but I'm completely confident in what God is doing, and I know I will be attending school semester two. The next "hurdle" will be getting a visa or visa extension in a record 7 days as my current one expires on August 1st. As always, I can't apply for student visa until school is paid for, and I can't attend school without a visa. As I shared earlier, knowing how far God has taken me in this process, I have full confidence that the visa will fall from the sky so to speak and it will be exhilarating to see just how that happens.

Again the number and dates to pray for is: 1) 3,750 NZD by July 25th to attend school. 2) Visa by August 1.

Where I'm at financially.

I'm now in my 2nd year as a Theology student double majoring in Pastoral Care/Bible at Laidlaw Bible College in New Zealand. I serve on the student leadership council as well as living on campus as the men's Resident Leader for Excel. I love Christ and the season I've been called to currently, one of study, has only fueled my love and understanding of what God is up to on planet earth. I also have the privilege of running the youth program at Avondale Baptist Church. To see where I'm at or where I've been (including some fun photos), check out my website www.davidandrewpiper.com . I'm now halfway through my degree, but will be unable to continue next semester with my current finances without the support of the body. Your prayers are received with joy and if you are interested in supporting financially please talk to my parents Mike and Deanna at 681.5154 or visit the website for more info. I tremendously miss this community, its been far to long since I have been home. See y'all this Christmas!
-------------------------------------------------------

At the semester end (next month) I will be halfway through my Btheol degree at Laidlaw with a double major in Biblical and Pastoral studies.Without the direct monetary involvement of the communities I have been apart of, I will not be able to study next semester. $6,100 USD is required for next semesters fees, fees which I can't afford to pay on my own. Over the last 3 semesters I have paid for almost 2/3 of my education(set aside a scholarship I won and various contributions, thank you!) , with my parents contributing to the other 1/3. I would ask you to pray about supporting my education in this next season at Laidlaw in Auckland New Zealand. To my understanding, I have just over 6 weeks to secure funding.

This last summer (November-February in NZ) as I was looking for work to pay for the current semester I'm in, I received a fantastic job opportunity to work at Kathmandu which is New Zealands answer to REI. Because of my commitment to another temporary job I was unable to secure work for the entirety of Summer at this store. The man who wanted to hire me apologized to me as I was the person fit for the job, but just barely missed company cut off dates for hiring. I told him in the store after following up on my application, “everything in my life has always worked out, without fail.” I still believe that with all my heart. God has confirmed to me that I'm exactly where I need to be right now in this season in NZ. A few weeks later that December, I secured a fantastic full time job on New Zealands south island working in a vineyard. If I had got the job at Kathmandu, I wouldn't have come close to the amount of money needed as I was able to work 45+ hours a week at the vineyard opposed to the meager 32 the store was offering. Next semester whether I study or not, I have peace that everything will work out just fine.

If you feel moved to contribute to my education and my future (as well as current) involvement in the Kingdom of God, please contact my parents at 360.681.5154 (Mike and Deanna Piper). If you feel compelled to help and your broke, feel free to pass this blog along to a friend.

My hearts cry is to participate in Gods desire of redemption for the world on a local and global scale. I have big dreams, but a content heart for whatever God wants for me, fulfilling the risen Christ's commission in Matthew 28.
